ZAAAM DATING FACEBOOK APPLICATION
REASONS:
The idea behind this project is to test the architecture of a heavy duty web server.
Although it's a really nice and graphically appealing PHP website, the major interest is to test hardware and resource usage / op.sys. (ubuntu server 10.04) and basic server modules.
This server as a PmaBox system software running in the background of the PHP website joomla based, with the basic web server modules installed. Apache2 (PHP and Flash), Bind9DNS, MySQL, Webalizer, Nagios3 and Postfix for email relaying "smart host" to my main email server.

THE WEBSITE TEMPLATE:
After some debate about what template to use I have decided to use a Dating website template. The reasons behind the decision are simple:
- Dating websites are traffic demanding due to heavy user utilization.
- Dating websites require a good hardware stability/resources management due to all the available user options and graphical layout.
- Dating websites require a fast architecture and a really efficient connection between the apache server hosting the PHP and the MySQL database.
- And the final reason, all existing dating websites are extremely expensive to use. And some use low tricks announcing free user registrations and then lack the basic functionalities without a payed account upgrade. Just the perfect conditions to launch a FREE DEBIAN BOX PROJECT.
- The majority of dating websites use really basic, cheap, riped off php scripts
THE WEBSITE FEATURES:
Options for search-engine optimization, including meta tags and URL-rewriting.
Dozens of global configuration options, easily accessible and changeable within the admin panel. Only a few are shown in this screenshot, although many more are available.
Advanced, web-based banner management. Specify start and end dates for which banners should be displayed.
Powerful extended search option. Search for profiles using any of a dozen search criteria.
Facebook easy registration and connection.
A built-in, Flash instant messenger is available to members so that they can send notes to other users who are online, facebook style.
In/out box is available to members, so that they can easily communicate with others.
Upon login, members have available to them a member panel, where they can quickly access chat, photos, videos, inbox, pokes, gifts, and other useful fun tools.
My Matches feature allows any member to instantly view other users who match their search preferences.
Create instant polls for your users, which are displayed within the template. Find out what users really think about online romance.
Thumbnail display options exist for profile searches. Members can see a quick summary of their searches, and paginate through potentially hundreds of pages of profiles.
Simple and advanced search options. Search by country, city, zip/postal code, status, or height. More advanced search options are on the way.
