Ubuntu How to Print Screen with Menu Selected

When compared to Windows, one of the really cool features of Ubuntu is to use the Print Screen, PrtSc, PrtScr without having to install really complicated or expensive software. In reality, the print screen functionality in Ubuntu comes with the main distro installation package and gets installed by default. So, to Print a Screen any Ubuntu user just needs to press PrtSc key of the keyboard, usually located on the top right corner. On Laptop keyboards, to have the same effect, users usually have to press fn key + PrtSc key, the fn key is located on the bottom left corner and the PrtSc key is located in the top right corner.

This is how a screenshot looks like:

Since I have 2 screens connect to my Ubuntu, LCD screen and LCD TV you can actually see that in this screenshot. My computer screen, the left part of the screenshot as a resolution higher than the LCD TV screen, the right part of the screenshot. One is playing Startrek and the other one is playing District9.

Once you press the Print Screen key, the print screen utility pops up in order for us to save the png file with a different name or in a different location. And it looks like this:

So far it was easy. But if you try to print screen with a menu activated then the print screen button will not work.... i.e. of a PRTSC of active menu.

To achieve the above screenshot, to print screen active menus you need the Take Screenshot Manager, available in Applications »» Accessories »» Take Screenshot

Once in the Take Screenshot Manager we need to delay the screenshot action, let's say 5 or 10 seconds, just enough time for you to open all necessary Menus and wait for the screenshot.
